Children Art Classes & Indigenous Storytelling

Time: 2 hours weekday mornings at various elementary schools.

Agenda: An Indigenous story will be read to the children, and then the children will paint a painting based on the story.

Ages: Grade 1 to Grade 6 students.

City: Calgary and surrounding area

Supplies to Bring: 1 apron (acrylic paint is non-toxic and washable, but would like to avoid spillage if possible), pencil and eraser.  Instructor will provide the canvas, acrylic paint, paint brushes and storybook.

Funding: I applied for a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to fund this project.

Goal:  My goal is to bring Indigenous awareness to children and to cultivate their artistic development.  Also, just to have some fun!
